Council Brewing Company
FEATURED CRAFT BEER
BY MIKE PUCKETT
Council Brewing Company is centrally located in the Kearney Mesa area of San Diego just off the 52. Like many local breweries, it is nestled in a business park. You get a really cool vibe when you walk inside. There is plenty of room to sit and savor the brews at one of the tables or at the bar. There’s access to food trucks and a small sandwich shop nearby if you get hungry.
Curtis Chism, one of the owners, gave me a quick synopsis of each beer I sampled. His wife Liz is the brewmaster, which is pretty unique. This is one thing I love about our local craft breweries. You can almost always find an owner or brewmaster on the floor who’s willing to chop it up with ya about their craft. Pretty cool, and Curtis was pretty cool, as well as informative. It’s difficult to say which beer I enjoyed the most, so I’ll name a few that I think will make you hoppy!
